Description:
The Worcester House is a multipurpose community engagement hub located at 4a City View St, across from the townhouses. It features a full kitchen, lounge, offices, and study rooms, intended for students, faculty, staff, and community partners to use to interface and engage more deeply on campus and in the Worcester community.
One of the House’s current priorities is engaging with groups of students, such as commuter students, who have historically lacked some of the services that the Worcester House now offers. Also, to promote new or expand on programming that better connects Holy Cross students with Worcester Public School students. To that end, the office of government and community relations seeks a Worcester House Assistant. As the front-facing facet of the Worcester House, the role will include:
Greeting and welcoming drop-ins to the House during open hours
Providing a consistent and engaged presence at the Worcester House
Sharing information about the Worcester House to interested parties, including open hours scheduling, upcoming events and programming, and other outreach initiatives
Assisting during community events (some night/weekend work may be requested)
Provide a student perspective to engagement efforts and program direction
Other duties as assigned
